Wild and romantic elopement and wedding photography on the Isle of Skye For those who adventure

Eloping wildly madly on the stormy Isle of Skye

An elopement arranged in only 4 weeks

Elopement photography Isle of Skye, Sligachan

Lucy and James (well mainly Lucy) pulled off a beautiful, intimate Isle of Skye elopement one wet, wild and windy April day. Having – slightly impetuously – decided that getting married on Skye would be amazing and the only place that she wanted to marry Lucy phoned registrar Liz to ask if that would be possible only 4 weeks hence. Liz pulled out all the stops not only to help with the required legal documentation but to craft a lovely and personalised wedding ceremony that made a role for the couple’s young son.

Lucy was slightly astonished, but happy, about the ease with which their plans fell into place – it was clearly meant to be. The lovely owners of the their holiday cottage were able to act as witness to the wedding, I was able to photograph the day, the rain stopped for (almost) all of the wedding, Lucy’s brother was able to attend last minute. Sligachan Hotel and it’s lovely bar gave us shelter (and prosecco) while Lucy and James signed the marriage schedule. Liz , the registrar also created a lovely “certificate” for the couple’s son to sign.

After draining our glasses we headed to the burn at Allt Dearg cottage, for paddling and much laughter.
