Why have an adventure hiking road trip elopement on the Isle of Skye ?

In the midst of plans for life, for work, for your wedding have you ever fancied calling a halt, packing your land rover and heading to the highlands of Scotland -just the two of you and your dog and simply living life for a few months? Witness the couple who did just that – one of the first stops on their journey being the tiniest of elopements on the Isle of Skye.

We met at their fabulous whitewashed cottage in the village of Torrin – and I couldn’t wait to meet the undoubted star of the show – the wonderful rescue dog Gerald – you’ll see what a gem he was to photograph!! From there we headed up the slopes of beautiful Bla Bheinn and found a spot by the river for their ceremony. Celebrant Davina (with the occasional help from Gerald) wove words around the couple and her husband and I witnessed the marriage – it was the tiniest but most meaningful of elopement ceremonies.

After the ceremony we explored the epic beach views at Elgol and then ended the day splashing in the water at the beach before the couple headed back to their cottage.
